Hello! Nice to have you here!
My name is Ines, and for as long as I can remember, handcrafts have been a part of my life. My handcrafting career began with a knitting loom and crochet hook. At school, we were taught crafts, including needlework. And while I was still at school, my mother taught me how to knit. She was also the one who supervised my first attempts at using the sewing machine.
At the age of twenty, I received my first sewing machine as a gift. From then on, I sewed more or less, first for myself, later for my family, with studies, career, and family always setting the pace of my life.
Now our children are grown and have gradually left home. With that, time and space for my old, new hobby returned. While searching the internet for interesting sewing projects, I also came across the topic of "patchwork." And you know how that ends: Once you've cut up fabric into small pieces to sew them back together, something completely incomprehensible to outsiders, you're infected with a virus that's hard to get rid of.
Since then, I've created many patchwork projects. My particular passion, however, is quilting. I quickly discovered that I really enjoy joining the backing fabric, batting, and quilt top with carefully considered stitches. This not only completes the quilt, but also brings it to life. Since quilting on a sewing machine can be very taxing on your shoulders over time, it was only a matter of time before a longarm quilting machine and Q-matic came into our house. This has opened up unimagined possibilities for me! I want to pass these on to my customers through my quilting service, which I opened in 2019.
There's something else I'm absolutely passionate about: foundation paper piecing – sewing on paper. This technique allows you to sew endlessly beautiful blocks that aren't possible with the traditional patchwork method. You'll gradually find sewing patterns for this in my shop, not just for foundation paper piecing. Check back from time to time!
